HUBCORE Smart Power

Power where it is needed — metered and managed

Smart Power is HUBCORE's family of directions: from a USB-C output for a phone or laptop to a managed 230 V socket, car park charging and building energy control. Every direction is clearly labelled: what can be ordered per site today, what is a pilot, what is planned and what is still research.

HUBCORE is not an electricity retailer or grid operator — the service runs behind the site owner's existing grid connection.

A metered USB-C PD and USB-A output for a phone, tablet or laptop — on a bench, in a waiting area, a market or a rest area.

What a smart power point does

230 V socket outlets

A controllable 230 V output for ordinary equipment — a market stall, a tool, lighting or a seasonal service.

USB-A and USB-C PD outputs

Primarily USB-C PD for a phone, tablet or laptop. USB-A remains available for compatibility.

Per-output metering

Each output is metered separately, so usage, cost and revenue can be tracked per site.

On/off, power and time limits

An output can be controlled remotely and given a power ceiling, a duration limit or an energy quota.

QR + HUBCORE ID access

The user scans a QR code and identifies with a HUBCORE ID. Wallet and RFID are planned but not yet available.

Free, group-based or paid use

The site owner decides whether use is free, limited to a defined user group, or paid. The billing model is legally validated before any real sales.

Dynamic load management

Smart power points are included in the same load management as EV charging, building consumption, solar and battery, so the site's main fuse stays within limits.

Safe default state and loss of connectivity

The local controller keeps a pre-agreed safe default state even when the cloud connection drops, and restores state in a controlled way.

Event log and fault alerts

Every command, session and fault is written to an event log; the operator receives a fault notification.

How a session works

  1. 1

    Find the point or scan the QR code

    The user finds the power point on site or on a map and scans the QR code next to the output.

  2. 2

    Identify yourself

    Identification uses a HUBCORE ID. Wallet and RFID are a future plan, not a current feature.

  3. 3

    Choose a duration or an energy amount

    The user selects a duration or an energy amount within the limits set by the site owner.

  4. 4

    Activate the output

    The output is switched on only when load management allows it and the safety conditions are met.

  5. 5

    Meter the usage

    Consumption is metered per output and shown during the session.

  6. 6

    End or bill the session

    The session ends at the user's request or when the limit is reached. Billing for paid use is legally validated before launch.

  7. 7

    Report for the site owner

    The owner sees consumption, cost and any revenue per output and per site, together with the event log.

Honest pilot status

  • Smart power points are in development and pilot stage; the described capability is delivered site by site.
  • Hardware, the number of outputs and the permitted power are decided after a technical and safety suitability check.
  • Wallet and RFID access are planned but not yet usable.
  • The billing model for paid use requires legal validation before any real sales.
